SEE ALSO...

β-Arrestin-2 Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody specifically developed to recognize β-Arrestin-2, also known as ARRB2, across multiple species including human, mouse, and rat. Anti-β-Arrestin-2 antibody (D-5) targets an epitope within amino acids 78-125 near the N-terminus of the human β-Arrestin-2 protein, facilitating its detection in applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). β-Arrestin-2 plays a pivotal role in regulating G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling by mediating receptor desensitization, internalization, and initiating alternative signaling pathways independent of G proteins. Additionally, β-Arrestin-2 undergoes post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation and ubiquitination, which are crucial for its function in receptor trafficking and signal termination. These modifications enable β-Arrestin-2 to interact with various signaling molecules, thereby influencing diverse physiological processes such as neurotransmission, immune responses, and cellular migration. Predominantly expressed in neuronal and spleen tissues, β-Arrestin-2 is essential for modulating neurotransmitter receptor activity and maintaining cellular homeostasis. β-Arrestin-2 monoclonal antibody (D-5) provides reliable and consistent performance, making β-Arrestin-2 an invaluable tool for researchers investigating intricate cellular mechanisms in health and disease. Anti-β-Arrestin-2 antibody (D-5) aids in the advancement of research focused on developing novel treatments for conditions such as neurological disorders, inflammation, and cancer.

I am using β-Arrestin-2 (D-5): sc-166935 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: Cweed
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
