Bek Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that targets the Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor 2 (FGFR2), also known as Bek, a critical receptor tyrosine kinase involved in regulating cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and angiogenesis through fibroblast growth factor (FGF) signaling pathways. Located on the cell surface, FGFR2 binds to FGF ligands, initiating a cascade of intracellular signaling events that are essential for tissue development, repair, and maintenance. The structure of FGFR2 includes an extracellular ligand-binding domain, a single transmembrane helix, and an intracellular tyrosine kinase domain, which are pivotal for its role in signal transduction and interaction with downstream signaling molecules like FRS2 and PLCγ. FGFR2 undergoes post-translational modifications, including glycosylation, which are crucial for its proper folding, stability, and functional activation, thereby enhancing its ability to interact with specific intracellular partners. FGFR2 monoclonal antibody (C-8) specifically recognizes an epitope mapping between amino acids 805-821 at the C-terminus of FGFR2, a region conserved between human and mouse sequences, ensuring reliable detection across species such as mouse, rat, and human. FGFR2 monoclonal antibody (C-8) is versatile in its applications, and is recommended for use in western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Additionally, FGFR2 monoclonal antibody (C-8) is available in both non-conjugated form and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, catering to diverse experimental requirements. By enabling precise detection and analysis of FGFR2, FGFR2 monoclonal antibody (C-8) is an invaluable tool for research into growth factor signaling mechanisms and their roles in developmental biology and disease pathology.

What is the difference between sc-6930 and sc-6930 P?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your inquiry. sc-6930 is our standard unconjugated Bek (C-8) monoclonal antibody. sc-6930 P is the blocking peptide matching this antibody that can be used as a negative control in combination with the antibody. For the protocol on how to use the blocking peptide, please see here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
