BCKDK Antibody (F-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BCKDK protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-BCKDK antibody (F-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BCKDK protein, also known as branched chain ketoacid dehydrogenase kinase, is a 412 amino acid mitochondrial matrix protein that functions as a monomer and features a histidine kinase domain. BCKDK protein is crucial for regulating the activity of the branched-chain alpha-ketoacid dehydrogenase (BCKD) complex, which is essential in the catabolic pathways of branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) such as valine, leucine, and isoleucine. BCKDK catalyzes the ATP-dependent phosphorylation and inactivation of the BCKD complex, thereby controlling the irreversible oxidative decarboxylation of BCAAs. BCKDK regulation of BCKD activity is vital for maintaining metabolic homeostasis, as dysregulation can lead to metabolic disorders. Understanding BCKDK function and role in BCAA metabolism is important for developing therapeutic strategies for conditions associated with impaired amino acid catabolism.
