SEE ALSO...

BBS8 Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects BBS8 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BBS8 Antibody (E-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BBS8, also known as tetratricopeptide repeat protein (TTC8), plays a crucial role in the function of cilia, which are essential for various cellular processes, including signaling pathways and cellular homeostasis maintenance. Dysfunction in ciliary proteins, such as BBS8, is implicated in Bardet-Biedl syndrome (BBS), a complex genetic disorder characterized by obesity, photoreceptor degeneration, polydactyly, and renal abnormalities. BBS8 contributes to the structural integrity and function of cilia, which are vital for proper cellular communication and movement. Mutations in BBS8 account for a small percentage of BBS cases, highlighting the genetic heterogeneity of the disorder and the challenges in understanding its pathogenesis. Anti-BBS8 antibody (E-2) facilitates research into the molecular mechanisms underlying BBS and the role of ciliary dysfunction in various diseases.
