    SEE ALSO...

BABAM1 Antibody (H-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BABAM1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BABAM1 (H-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BABAM1 protein, also known as BRISC and BRCA1-A complex member 1, plays a critical role in DNA damage response and cell cycle regulation, making BABAM1 essential for maintaining genomic integrity. Located in cytoplasm and nucleus, BABAM1 is part of BRISC complex, which specifically hydrolyzes ′Lys-63′-linked polyubiquitin chains, a function distinct from other ubiquitin-processing proteases that target ′Lys-48′-linked chains for protein degradation. This unique enzymatic activity is vital for various cellular processes, including signal transduction, DNA repair, and immune responses, as BABAM1 regulates localization, activity, and stability of ubiquitinated proteins without leading them to degradation. BABAM1 interacts with BRCC36 within BRISC complex, enhancing specificity for ′Lys-63′-linked ubiquitin chains, which is particularly important in DNA damage response. BRISC complex, through BABAM1, negatively regulates NF-κB signaling pathway, thereby modulating immune responses. These multifaceted roles underscore BABAM1′s significance in cellular function and potential as a therapeutic target in diseases associated with DNA repair deficiencies.
