SEE ALSO...

ATP5B Antibody (F-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects ATP5B in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ATP5B, also known as ATPMB or ATPSB, is a crucial 529 amino acid protein that functions as a subunit of the F0 complex of mitochondrial ATP synthase, essential for ATP production during oxidative phosphorylation. ATP5B is located in the mitochondrial membrane, forming part of the proton channel that facilitates ATP synthesis by utilizing the electrochemical gradient generated across the inner mitochondrial membrane. Proper functioning of ATP5B is critical for cellular energy metabolism, and dysregulation can lead to various metabolic disorders. ATP5B is encoded by a nuclear gene and assembles with other subunits encoded by both mitochondrial and nuclear genes, highlighting the intricate coordination required for mitochondrial function. ATP5B mRNA expression varies significantly among different tissues, with high levels found in the heart, moderate levels in skeletal muscle, and low levels in the liver and kidney, indicating specialized roles in energy-demanding tissues. ATP5B gene regulation by Ets family transcription factors suggests these factors may influence gene expression in rapidly proliferating cells, emphasizing ATP5B′s importance in cellular energy dynamics.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-166462 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
