SEE ALSO...

ATP5B Antibody (E-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ATP5B protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ATP5B (E-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ATP5B, also known as ATP synthase F1 subunit beta, plays a crucial role in mitochondrial function by forming part of the ATP synthase complex, which is essential for ATP production during oxidative phosphorylation. ATP5B is located in the mitochondrial membrane, where ATP5B contributes to the F0 complex, a vital component that facilitates proton translocation across the membrane, driving ATP synthesis from adenosine diphosphate and inorganic phosphate. Proper functioning of ATP5B is critical for cellular energy metabolism, and dysregulation can lead to various metabolic disorders and mitochondrial diseases. ATP5B is encoded by a nuclear gene and assembles with other subunits encoded by both mitochondrial and nuclear genes, highlighting the intricate coordination required for mitochondrial biogenesis and function. ATP5B mRNA expression varies significantly among different tissues, with high levels found in the heart, moderate levels in skeletal muscle, and lower levels in the liver and kidney, indicating ATP5B importance in energy-demanding tissues.

Bonjour, pourriez-vous me dire si l'anticorps sc-55597 (sous sa forme non conjuguée) est utilisable pour analyse par FACS de la forme membranaire de l'ATP5b? Merci.

Asked by: JLP976
Merci pour votre question. Le sc-55597 non conjugué n'est pas recommandé pour les applications de cytométrie en flux. Thank you for your question. Unconjugated sc-55597 is not recommended for flow cytometry applications.

I am using ATP5B (E-1): sc-55597 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: jenniferc
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not optimal signal on yeast atp5b (atp2)I tried this antibody on S. cerevisiae lysate at 1:1000 with overnight incubation and got very faint signal at the right MW even after 5min exposure with chemiluminescent substrate. There is also a background band around 20kDa. If you need to use this antibody in yeast, use 1:100 dilution overnight in 5%milk in tbst and perhaps 1:3000 for the secondary for 1hour at room temp.
