ASGPR1/2 Antibody (E-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects ASGPR1/2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ASGPR1/2 (E-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Asialoglycoprotein Receptor (ASGPR), also known as hepatic lectin, is a type II integral membrane protein predominantly expressed in hepatic cells, where ASGPR plays a crucial role in glycoprotein clearance from circulation. ASGPR consists of two homologous subunits, ASGPR1 and ASGPR2, which form multimeric complexes and contain four functional domains: a cytosolic domain, a transmembrane domain, a stalk domain, and a carbohydrate recognition domain (CRD). The CRD enables ASGPR to specifically bind glycoproteins with terminal galactose and N-acetylgalactosamine residues in the presence of calcium, facilitating complex internalization into cells. Once internalized, the receptor-ligand complex dissociates, allowing ASGPR to recycle back to the cell membrane. ASGPR has been shown to interact with hepatitis B virus (HBV), mediating HBV entry into liver cells, which highlights ASGPR′s potential as a therapeutic target in HBV infection.
