ASF1A/B Antibody (4A1/3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects ASF1A/B protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). ASF1A/B (4A1/3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ASF1A protein, known as anti-silencing function 1A, plays a crucial role as a transcription factor that interacts with core histones H3 and H4, facilitating gene expression regulation. This interaction is vital for proper nucleosome assembly, which is essential for DNA packaging and gene regulation. ASF1A becomes highly phosphorylated during S-phase of the cell cycle, a modification critical for chromatin dynamics and gene activation. Both ASF1A and ASF1B homolog, sharing 71% amino acid identity, are phosphorylated by TLK1 and TLK2 proteins, highlighting their cooperative role in chromatin remodeling. ASF1A gene is located on chromosome 6q22.31, while ASF1B gene is mapped to chromosome 19p13.13, underscoring the evolutionary conservation and functional importance in cellular processes.
