ASCL1 Antibody (D-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ASCL1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ASCL1 antibody (D-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ASCL1, also known as ASH1, is a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor that plays a crucial role in the early development of the nervous system, particularly in the formation and survival of autonomic neurons. ASCL1 expression is predominantly observed in the fetal brain, where ASCL1 is essential for the proper development of neuronal circuits. Notably, ASCL1 interacts with the MEF-2A protein, which may influence the expression of genes vital for establishing distinct neuronal pathways within the central nervous system. ASCL1 expression levels are high in neuroendocrine tumors, such as medullary thyroid cancer and small cell lung cancer, making ASCL1 a potential biomarker for cancers exhibiting neuroendocrine characteristics. Additionally, the ASCL1 gene is located on human chromosome 12 and contains a trinucleotide repeat region, positioning ASCL1 as a candidate locus for inherited diseases.
