ASCL1 Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ASCL1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ASCL1 (G-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ASCL1 protein, also known as Achaete-Scute Homolog 1, is a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor that plays a crucial role in early nervous system development, particularly in autonomic neuron formation and survival. ASCL1 expression is predominantly observed in fetal brain, where ASCL1 is essential for proper neuronal circuit development. ASCL1 interacts with MEF-2A protein, which may influence expression of genes vital for establishing distinct neuronal pathways within central nervous system. ASCL1 shows high expression levels in neuroendocrine tumors, such as medullary thyroid cancer and small cell lung cancer, making ASCL1 a potential biomarker for cancers exhibiting neuroendocrine characteristics. ASCL1 gene is located on human chromosome 12 and contains a trinucleotide repeat region, positioning ASCL1 as a candidate for inherited diseases.
