ASC-1 Antibody (F-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Activating Signal Co-integrator-1 (ASC-1) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ASC-1, originally identified as TRIP4, serves as a crucial transcriptional co-activator of nuclear receptors, playing a significant role in gene expression regulation by associating with components of the RNA polymerase II complex and binding to essential basal transcription factors like TBP and TFIIA. ASC-1′s structure includes a zinc finger motif that facilitates interaction with other transcription integrators, such as SRC-1 and CBP/p300, which are vital for ligand-dependent transactivation capabilities. ASC-1 is predominantly localized in the nucleus of HeLa cells, but under serum starvation conditions, can translocate to the cytoplasm. This dynamic localization suggests ASC-1 may help establish distinct co-activator complexes depending on the cellular environment, thereby influencing transcriptional outcomes in response to various stimuli. ASC-1′s versatility in different cellular contexts underscores its importance in regulating gene expression and maintaining cellular homeostasis, making anti-ASC-1 antibody (F-7) an essential tool for researchers studying transcriptional regulation and co-activator dynamics.
