ASC-1 Antibody (F-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ASC-1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ASC-1 (F-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ASC-1, also known as activating signal co-integrator-1, plays a crucial role as a transcriptional co-activator of nuclear receptors, facilitating RNA polymerase II complex assembly and interacting with essential basal transcription factors such as TBP and TFIIA. ASC-1′s zinc finger motif enables function alongside other transcription integrators like SRC-1 and CBP/p300, relying on their ligand-dependent transactivation domain, AF2, to enhance transcriptional activity. ASC-1 predominantly localizes in HeLa cell nuclei but can translocate to the cytoplasm during serum starvation. When serum-starved cells are treated with ligands or co-expressed with CBP or SRC-1, ASC-1 maintains nuclear localization, suggesting a role in forming distinct co-activator complexes that adapt to varying cellular environments. This dynamic localization and interaction pattern highlights ASC-1′s importance in regulating gene expression and cellular responses to external signals.
