    SEE ALSO...

ARFGAP2 Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects ARFGAP2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ARFGAP2, also known as zinc finger protein 289 or ADP-ribosylation factor GTPase-activating protein 2, plays a crucial role in regulating the activity of ADP-ribosylation factor (ARF) proteins, which are essential for vesicle trafficking and signal transduction in eukaryotic cells. By localizing to the cytoplasmic side of the Golgi apparatus, ARFGAP2 facilitates the hydrolysis of GTP bound to ARF proteins, thereby promoting their inactivation and ensuring proper vesicle formation and transport. This regulation is vital for maintaining organelle integrity and coordinating cellular responses to various stimuli. Furthermore, ARFGAP2′s interaction with COP-I-coated vesicles underscores its importance in the retrograde transport pathway, which is critical for recycling proteins back to the endoplasmic reticulum. ARFGAP2′s ability to modulate ARF activity highlights its significance in cellular homeostasis and the potential implications in various diseases where vesicle trafficking is disrupted.
