ARA54 Antibody (B-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ARA54 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ARA54 (B-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ARA54 functions as a coactivator of the androgen receptor (AR), which mediates the effects of androgens like testosterone and dihydrotestosterone on male reproductive physiology and phenotype. ARA54 contains a RING finger domain that enhances AR activity, particularly in tissues such as the testis, thymus, spleen, colon, prostate, and uterus, where ARA54 is expressed at high levels. The interaction between ARA54 and AR is facilitated by the FXXLF motif found in AR coactivators, which is critical for binding to the receptor, although this motif does not influence transcriptional activity. Understanding ARA54 and its interaction with AR helps illuminate the molecular mechanisms underlying androgen signaling and its implications in male reproductive health.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-376701 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
