SEE ALSO...

AQP5 Antibody (D-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects AQP5 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-AQP5 antibody (D-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. AQP5, a member of the aquaporin family, plays a crucial role in facilitating water transport across cell membranes, particularly in the lungs, where AQP5 is predominantly expressed in type I alveolar epithelial cells. This function is vital for maintaining proper hydration and surfactant homeostasis in the alveoli, which is essential for efficient gas exchange and overall respiratory function. Dysregulation of AQP5 has been implicated in various pulmonary disorders, highlighting AQP5′s importance in both normal physiology and disease states. AQP5′s ability to transport water rapidly makes AQP5 a key player in processes such as pulmonary secretion and the regulation of airway surface liquid, further underscoring AQP5′s significance in respiratory health.
