AQP2 Antibody (E13-21) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects AQP2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-AQP2 antibody (E13-21) is available in both conjugated and non-conjugated forms, providing flexibility for various experimental needs. AQP2, a member of the aquaporin family, plays a crucial role in regulating water homeostasis in the body, particularly in the kidney′s collecting ducts, where AQP2 is uniquely activated by vasopressin to enhance water reabsorption. This function is vital for maintaining fluid balance and blood pressure, making AQP2 essential in the context of conditions such as diabetes insipidus and other disorders related to water retention. AQP2′s location within the cell membrane is significant, as AQP2 allows for the rapid transport of water in response to hormonal signals, thereby influencing urine concentration and overall hydration status. Understanding AQP2 dynamics and regulation can provide insights into therapeutic targets for kidney-related diseases and contribute to the development of treatments aimed at restoring normal water balance in affected individuals.
