SEE ALSO...

apoH Antibody (C-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects apoH protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-apoH antibody (C-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Human apolipoprotein H (apoH), also known as β 2-glycoprotein I, activated protein C binding protein, or APC inhibitor, is a five-domain plasma membrane-adhesion protein that plays a crucial role in several physiological processes, including blood coagulation and immune response. apoH is primarily synthesized by hepatocytes and is found in the bloodstream associated with plasma lipoproteins, where apoH exhibits a genetically determined structural polymorphism with three alleles (apoH1, apoH2, and apoH3). apoH is involved in the clearance of apoptotic bodies from circulation, which is vital for maintaining tissue homeostasis and preventing autoimmune responses. apoH acts as a cofactor for the binding of serum auto-antibodies in antiphospholipid syndrome, linking apoH to conditions such as thrombosis, lupus erythematosus, and recurrent fetal loss. apoH gene is located on human chromosome 17q23-24, and apoH′s ability to inhibit the translocation of cholesterol from extracellular pools to macrophages suggests a protective role against atherosclerosis by reducing cellular cholesterol accumulation.
