apoE Antibody (B-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that targets an epitope between amino acids 293-301 at the C-terminus of apolipoprotein E (apoE) in rat, with reactivity to mouse and rat samples. apoE is a critical protein involved in lipid transport and cholesterol metabolism, serving as a ligand for several receptors including the LDL receptor and hepatic apoE receptor. These interactions facilitate the clearance of cholesterol-rich lipoproteins, which is essential for maintaining lipid homeostasis and preventing atherosclerosis. apoE also interacts with other proteins such as ABCA1, which is involved in the efflux of cholesterol to form high-density lipoproteins (HDL), and heparan sulfate proteoglycans that play a role in cellular uptake.
