apoE Antibody (F-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that targets apolipoprotein E (apoE), specifically recognizing amino acids 31-253 within its internal region in human, mouse, and rat samples. Apolipoprotein E (apoE) is a vital component of plasma lipoproteins involved in lipid transport and cholesterol metabolism. Structurally, apoE is composed of two major domains: the N-terminal domain responsible for receptor binding and the C-terminal domain important for lipid binding, which allows apoE to efficiently mediate lipid transport between cells. This structure is crucial for apoE′s function, as any alterations can affect binding affinity for lipoprotein receptors, such as the LDL receptor, influencing cholesterol clearance from the bloodstream. Additionally, the structural diversity of apoE isoforms (E2, E3, and E4) contributes to varying functional outcomes, particularly in lipid metabolism and neurodegenerative diseases. anti-apoE antibody (F-9) is validated for multiple applications, including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), making anti-apoE antibody (F-9) an essential tool for researchers investigating the structural and functional roles of apoE in lipid metabolism and associated pathologies.

apoE F-9 has replaced M-20. However, M-20 binds on the C-terminus of apoE, while F-9 binds within an internal region of apoE. Therefore, by F-9 we cannot detect apoE fragments previously detected with M-20. Any suggestion for another replacement?

Does this APOE antibody (F-9) have different affinity to different APOE isoforms (E2, E3, and E4)?

Asked by: CSYang
Thank you for your question. We have not performed any testing with this apoE Antibody (F-9): sc-390925 to determine reactivity with, or affinity for the different apoE isoforms, E2, E3 and E4.

The epitope mapping does not make sense - this protein is 319 aa long if including the signaling peptide. Please could you clarify this epitope sequence?

Asked by: Jade
Thank you for your question, and for bringing this discrepancy to our attention. After reviewing the product, we have made a typo in the amino acid range listed as the immunogen for this antibody and incorrectly listed the range as 31-353. The correct range is 31-253. This antibody, apoE Antibody (F-9): sc-390925, is a mouse monoclonal antibody raised against a recombinant protein corresponding to amino acids 31-253 of apoE of human origin.
