AOF1 Antibody (E-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects AOF1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AOF1 (E-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. AOF1, also known as amine-oxidase flavin-containing domain 1, KDM1B (lysine (K)-specific demethylase 1B), or LSD2 (lysine-specific histone demethylase 2), is an 823 amino acid nuclear protein that plays a crucial role in epigenetic regulation by demethylating Lys4 of histone H3, a modification associated with transcriptional activation. This demethylation process is vital for the regulation of gene expression, particularly during development and cellular differentiation. AOF1 interacts with the N-terminal tail of mono- and dimethylated Lys4 of histone H3, facilitating AOF1′s function as a histone demethylase. AOF1 exists in three alternatively spliced isoforms and is essential for de novo DNA methylation of certain imprinted genes in oocytes. AOF1 contains a single SWIRM domain, which is implicated in chromatin regulation, and features one CW-type zinc finger. The gene encoding AOF1 is located on human chromosome 6p22.3, highlighting AOF1′s significance in genetic regulation and potential implications in developmental biology and disease.
