Annexin VI Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Annexin VI in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Annexin VI is a member of the annexin family of calcium-binding proteins, which play crucial roles in various cellular processes, including ion flux, endocytosis, exocytosis, and cellular adhesion. Annexin VI is characterized by a conserved core domain that binds to phospholipids in a calcium-dependent manner, along with a unique amino-terminal region that may provide binding specificity. Notably, Annexin VI has been shown to influence cellular behavior; when overexpressed in A-431 cells, Annexin VI can partially reverse the transformed phenotype, suggesting a potential role as a tumor suppressor. Furthermore, growth-dependent post-translational modifications of Annexin VI are essential for proper sub-cellular localization, which is critical for maintaining cellular integrity and signaling. Anti-Annexin VI antibody (C-4) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying protein dynamics in various biological contexts, including involvement in disease states such as muscular dystrophy, where localization is altered.
