SEE ALSO...

Annexin A9 Antibody (F-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects Annexin A9 in mouse and rat samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Annexin A9, also known as Annexin-31 or Pemphaxin, is a 345 amino acid protein characterized by four Annexin domains, which play a crucial role in binding phospholipids in a calcium-dependent manner. Notably, anti-Annexin A9 antibody (F-2) targets an atypical member of the annexin family, as Annexin A9′s intracellular activity is not regulated by calcium due to specific sequence mutations. This unique feature allows Annexin A9 to function independently of calcium fluctuations, which is significant for its role in cellular processes. Furthermore, Annexin A9 has been implicated in the pathogenesis of pemphigus vulgaris, a rare autoimmune skin disorder where autoantibodies target this protein, leading to a loss of cell-cell adhesion and the formation of blisters in the epidermis. Annexin A9 monoclonal antibody (F-2) is essential for researchers studying the molecular mechanisms underlying this condition and exploring the broader implications of Annexin A9 in cellular signaling and adhesion processes.

What blocking solution should I use with Annexin A9 (F-2): sc-373934 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
