Annexin A9 Antibody (F-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Annexin A9 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Annexin A9 antibody (F-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Annexin A9, also known as Annexin-31 or Pemphaxin, is a 345 amino acid protein characterized by four Annexin domains, which are crucial for function as a low-affinity receptor for acetylcholine. Annexin A9 stands out among family members because intracellular activity is not regulated by calcium ions due to specific sequence mutations. This unique feature enables significant roles in various cellular processes, including ion flux regulation, endocytosis, exocytosis, and cellular adhesion, which maintain cellular integrity and communication. Annexin A9 serves as a target protein for autoantibodies in patients with pemphigus vulgaris, a rare autoimmune skin disorder causing epidermal blisters through compromised cell-cell adhesion. Anti-Annexin A9 antibody (F-9) availability in multiple formats enhances research versatility, making this antibody valuable for studying Annexin A9′s biological functions and clinical implications.

Can Annexin A9 (F-9): sc-374288 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. Yes, Annexin A9 (F-9): sc-374288 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
