    SEE ALSO...

Ankyrin G Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Ankyrin G in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Ankyrin G plays a crucial role in maintaining neuronal cell integrity by anchoring integral membrane proteins to the cytoskeleton, which is vital for proper cellular signaling and function. Anti-Ankyrin G antibody (A-7) targets proteins predominantly localized at the nodes of Ranvier and axon initial segments, where Ankyrin G is essential for sodium channel regulation and action potential propagation in neurons. Ankyrin G′s unique structure, characterized by multiple isoforms generated through alternative mRNA processing, allows for tissue-specific functions, with largest isoforms primarily expressed in nervous tissue and smaller variants found in organs like lung, kidney, spleen, liver, and heart. Ankyrin G′s interaction with various proteins, including sodium channels, underscores Ankyrin G′s importance in neuronal excitability and cellular communication, making anti-Ankyrin G antibody (A-7) an invaluable research tool for studying neuronal function and related pathologies.

Do you recommend using this primary antibody of Ankyrin G (A-7): sc-137105, for detecting 270 kDa or 480 kDa isoforms in Western blotting? Because many WB results of 190 kDa isoform but few of 270 or 480 kDa were found. Thank you

I am using Ankyrin G (A-7): sc-137105 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

    Asked by: jenniferc
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
