Angptl4 Antibody (C-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Angptl4 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Angptl4 antibody (C-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Angiopoietin-like 4 (Angptl4), also known as hepatic fibrinogen/angiopoietin-related protein (HFARP), is a secreted protein that helps protect endothelial cells through endocrine actions. Angptl4 is primarily expressed in endothelial cells under hypoxic conditions, highlighting a key role in vascular biology and oxygen response. Angptl4 contains a highly hydrophobic region at the N-terminus, indicating a secretory signal sequence, along with a consensus glycosylation site essential for stability and function. Angptl4 serves as a marker for renal cell carcinoma, as other renal tumor cells do not produce Angptl4 mRNA. Recent studies show Angptl4 acts as a blood-borne hormone directly influencing glucose homeostasis, lipid metabolism, and insulin sensitivity, making Angptl4 a potential therapeutic target for diabetes management.
