    SEE ALSO...

AMZ2 Antibody (E-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects AMZ2 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AMZ2 (E-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. AMZ2, also known as archaelysin family metallopeptidase 2 or archaemetzincin-2, is a 360 amino acid protein that belongs to the peptidase M54 family and is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 17q24.2. AMZ2 is predominantly expressed in the heart and testis, but can also be found in the kidney, liver, pancreas, lung, brain, and placenta, as well as in fetal tissues such as kidney, liver, lung, and brain. AMZ2 plays a crucial role in metal ion binding and functions as a zinc metalloprotease, which is important for various physiological processes, including the regulation of peptide hormones. AMZ2 exhibits aminopeptidase activity, specifically acting against Angiotensin in vitro, although AMZ2 does not hydrolyze Neurogranin or Angiotensin. Notably, AMZ2 is significantly inhibited by Epiamastatin hydrochloride, an aminopeptidase inhibitor, as well as general metalloprotease inhibitors like o-phenanthroline and batimastat, highlighting AMZ2′s potential as a target for therapeutic intervention in conditions where metalloprotease activity is dysregulated.
