SEE ALSO...

AMPKα1 Antibody (H-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects AMPK alpha 1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AMPKα1 (H-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The 5′-AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) is a crucial heterotrimeric complex composed of a catalytic α subunit and regulatory β and γ subunits, playing a vital role in cellular energy homeostasis. AMPK is primarily located in the cytoplasm and becomes activated in response to cellular stressors that lead to ATP depletion, such as hypoxia or nutrient deprivation. This cytoplasmic location enables rapid sensing of energy status and initiates metabolic adaptations, including anabolic process inhibition and catabolic pathway activation to restore energy balance. AMPK activation leads to phosphorylation of key regulatory enzymes, such as hydroxy-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase and acetyl-CoA carboxylase, which are essential for sterol and fatty acid synthesis, respectively. The human AMPKα1 gene encodes a 548 amino acid protein, while AMPKα2 gene encodes a 552 amino acid protein, with both isoforms contributing to metabolic process regulation in response to energy fluctuations.

I don't have any more of my standard secondary antibody. What do you recommend I use as a secondary detection reagent?

Asked by: Cweed
We recommend using one our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins as a secondary detection reagent. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Band is great! At 1:500, this antibody worked for us. The band is great, but may be a little below the anticipated band size. This is probably just because of our gel make up.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good workGives a non specific band in the lymphoma cell lines at around 70 and 60 (although faint compared to the specific band)
Date published: 2018-05-16
Rated 3 out of 5 by from It does not work wellIt does not work well in Hela cells and mouse liver samples when I used 1:500 dilution

Rated 4 out of 5 by from WB AMPK α1 (H-4)One strong band at 63 kDa, with a bit of background (two other bands and aspecific bands).
Date published: 2017-10-13
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good antibodyWorked well with western blotting at 1:500 dilution.
