SEE ALSO...

ALX4 Antibody (KAB4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ALX4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ALX4 (KAB4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ALX4, also known as aristaless-like homeobox 4, functions as a DNA-binding transcription factor that plays a crucial role in the development of the skull and limbs, making ALX4 essential for proper skeletal formation. This nuclear protein is predominantly expressed in bone, and ALX4 defects are linked to parietal foramina 2 (PFM2), an autosomal dominant condition characterized by abnormal openings in the parietal bones due to insufficient ossification. PFM2 can also manifest as a feature of Potocki-Shaffer syndrome. Notably, bone morphogenetic proteins (BMP) have been shown to induce the expression of both Msx2 and ALX4 in calvarial mesenchyme, highlighting ALX4′s involvement in bone development pathways. Northern blot analysis has confirmed that ALX4 expression is restricted to bone tissue in both human and mouse models, underscoring ALX4′s significance in skeletal biology and potential implications in developmental disorders.
