SEE ALSO...

αB-crystallin Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects αB-crystallin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). αB-crystallin is a member of the small heat shock protein family and plays a crucial role in cellular stress response by acting as a molecular chaperone, preventing the aggregation of denatured proteins and maintaining cellular protein homeostasis. This function is particularly important in tissues that are subject to high levels of stress, such as the lens of the eye, heart, and skeletal muscle, where αB-crystallin is abundantly expressed. Notably, αB-crystallin′s ability to form large soluble aggregates allows for sequestering misfolded proteins, thereby protecting cells from proteotoxicity. Dysregulation of αB-crystallin expression has been linked to various neurological diseases, highlighting its significance in maintaining cellular integrity under stress conditions. Anti-αB-crystallin antibody (A-7) is an essential tool for researchers studying αB-crystallin′s role in health and disease, providing insights into its involvement in conditions such as Desmin-related myopathy and congenital cataracts.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with αB-crystallin (A-7): sc-137143 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
