ALK-1 Antibody (F-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ALK-1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ALK-1 (F-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ALK-1, also known as activin receptor-like kinase 1, plays a crucial role in regulating vascular development and homeostasis, making ALK-1 significant in hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT), an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by abnormal blood vessel formation. Mutations in ALK-1 lead to impaired signaling pathways essential for endothelial cell function, contributing to vascular malformations seen in HHT2. ALK-1 is primarily expressed in vascular endothelial cells and preferentially binds to transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGFβ1), which is vital for maintaining vascular integrity.
