SEE ALSO...

Adenovirus-2/5 E1A Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects E1A protein of Adenovirus-2 and Adenovirus-5 by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-E1A antibody (A-3) targets the early region (E1) of the adenovirus genome, which is crucial for the virus′s ability to transform host cells. E1A protein plays a significant role in regulating the cell cycle by interacting with key cellular proteins, including retinoblastoma (Rb) protein and cyclin A, which are vital for controlling cell proliferation. By binding to Rb, E1A disrupts its function, leading to the release of E2F transcription factors that promote the expression of genes necessary for DNA synthesis and cell division. This mechanism is essential for the adenovirus to hijack the host′s cellular machinery, allowing for viral replication and the potential for oncogenic transformation. E1A′s ability to modulate cellular gene expression not only facilitates viral infection but also provides insights into the molecular pathways involved in cancer development, making the study of E1A and its interactions with cellular proteins a significant area of research in virology and oncology.
