SEE ALSO...

Adducin α Antibody (4D1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Adducin alpha protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-Adducin α antibody (4D1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Adducins are a family of cytoskeletal proteins encoded by three genes (α, β, γ), and Adducin α plays a crucial role in organizing the cortical actin cytoskeletal network, which maintains cell shape and integrity. Adducin α is primarily localized at the spectrin-actin junction of the plasma membrane, where Adducin α contributes to structural stability and participates in cell signaling and motility. Adducin α′s importance extends to its association with sodium-pump activity in the renal tubule, linking Adducin α to hypertension, a significant health concern. While Adducin α and Adducin γ exhibit ubiquitous expression, Adducin β is predominantly found in the brain and hematopoietic tissues, highlighting the diverse roles of these proteins in different cellular contexts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Potent and very specific antibodyThis monoclonal antibody was independently tested in-house by Kinexus Bioinformatics Corporation and validated for use for Western blotting. There was medium detection of the ~120 kDa target in mouse tissues (brain/testes/thymus/muscle mix), and no detection of the target protein in a HeLa/Jurkat cell lysate mix. No major cross-reactivities were observed at 2 µg/ml antibody concentration with off-target proteins in the mouse tissues tested.
