ADAR1 Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects ADAR1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ADAR1 (D-8) antibody is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RNA-specific adenosine deaminase, ADAR1, plays a crucial role in RNA editing by converting adenosine to inosine in double-stranded RNA, essential for gene expression regulation and cellular homeostasis maintenance. This editing process is particularly important in immune response, as ADAR1 can modulate viral RNA recognition, influencing host response to infections. ADAR1 is expressed from an interferon-response promoter and features a Z-DNA/Z-RNA binding domain at N-terminus, vital for RNA editing function. ADAR1 co-localizes with SUMO-1 in a distinct subnucleolar region, with localization regulated by nucleolar localization signal and nuclear exporter signal. ADAR1 interaction with nuclear factor 90 (NF90) enhances gene expression, highlighting significance in post-transcriptional regulation. ADAR1′s ability to bind short interfering RNA (siRNA) suggests potential limitation of siRNA-mediated gene silencing in mammalian cells, making ADAR1 a critical player in RNA biology and therapeutic applications.
