Actin Antibody (SPM161) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody. Anti-Actin antibody (SPM161) is raised against Actin from the gizzard of chicken origin, exhibiting broad species reactivity including mouse, rat, human, avian, and canine in western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). Actin is a ubiquitous and highly conserved protein that can constitute up to 50% of the total protein content in eukaryotic cells, playing a pivotal role in various cellular functions such as muscle contraction, cell motility, and maintenance of cell shape and integrity. Actin filaments form both stable and dynamic structures within the cytoskeleton, serving as essential components of microvilli and the contractile apparatus of muscle cells.
