SEE ALSO...

ACSM3 Antibody (G-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ACSM3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ACSM3 (G-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The acyl-CoA synthetase medium-chain (ACSM) family, which includes ACSM1, ACSM2A, ACSM2B, ACSM3, ACSM4, and ACSM5, plays a crucial role in the metabolism of medium-chain fatty acids by catalyzing their activation. ACSM3, a 586 amino acid protein, exhibits broad substrate specificity and requires magnesium as a cofactor for enzymatic activity, which is vital for the proper metabolism of fatty acids that are essential for energy production and cellular function. The gene encoding ACSM3 is located on human chromosome 16, a region associated with several genetic disorders, including giant axonal neuropathy and Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome, highlighting the importance of this protein in both metabolic processes and its potential implications in human health.
