ACSF3 Antibody (F-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ACSF3 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ACSF3 (F-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ACSF3, also known as acyl-CoA synthetase family member 3, is a 576 amino acid enzyme that plays a crucial role in fatty acid metabolism by catalyzing the formation of a thioester with coenzyme A, which is the initial step in the metabolic pathway. ACSF3 exhibits a preference for lignoceric acid, a very long-chain fatty acid, indicating a specialized function in metabolizing longer fatty acid substrates, which are essential for various cellular processes, including membrane synthesis and energy production. ACSF3 is localized in the mitochondria and exists in two alternatively spliced isoforms, highlighting potential regulatory roles in mitochondrial function and fatty acid utilization.
