AChRε Antibody (D-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects AChRε in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AChRε, also known as CMS1D, CMS1E, CMS2A, FCCMS, SCCMS, or CHRNE, is a 493 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role in neuromuscular transmission by forming part of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor complex. This receptor is essential for muscle contraction, as AChRε mediates the binding of acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction, leading to the opening of ion channels that allow the influx of sodium ions and the subsequent depolarization of the muscle cell membrane. Proper functioning of AChRε is vital for muscle strength and coordination, and dysfunction is associated with congenital myasthenic syndromes, which can lead to severe muscle weakness and fatigue. Anti-AChRε antibody (D-6) enables investigation of receptor expression and function in various experimental settings.
