AChRε Antibody (B-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects AChRε protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-AChRε antibody (B-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. AChRε, also known as CHRNE, plays a crucial role in neuromuscular transmission by forming part of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor complex, which is essential for muscle contraction and communication between nerves and muscles. AChRε is primarily located at the postsynaptic membrane of the neuromuscular junction, where AChRε binds acetylcholine released from motor neurons, leading to the opening of ion channels that allow sodium ions to flow into the muscle cell, ultimately triggering muscle contraction. Proper functioning of AChRε is vital for muscle strength and coordination, and mutations in AChRε are associated with congenital myasthenic syndromes, which can lead to muscle weakness and fatigue. AChRε monoclonal antibody (B-11) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying neuromuscular disorders and the underlying mechanisms of synaptic transmission.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good for western blottingIn western blotting this antibody specifically recognised a cell lysate from HEK293T cells transfected with cDNA encoding the human AChR epsilon subunit. A much fainter band was visible in mock transfected cells (the protein is thought to be expressed at low levels in this cell line). Primary antibody was used 1:100 but could be diluted more as the band was visible after exposing the autoradiograph for only about 1 second.
