AChRα2 Antibody (H-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the AChR alpha 2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AChR alpha 2 antibody (H-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. AChR alpha 2 protein, also known as CHRNA2, is a critical component of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor family, which plays a vital role in neurotransmission at the neuromuscular junction. CHRNA2 is primarily located in the postsynaptic membrane, where CHRNA2 facilitates rapid signal transmission by allowing ions to flow through its transmembrane pore upon binding with acetylcholine. Proper functioning of AChR alpha 2 is essential for muscle contraction and overall neuromuscular function, and AChR alpha 2 dysfunction has been linked to various neurological disorders, including nocturnal frontal lobe epilepsy type 4. This condition is characterized by nocturnal seizures and can significantly impact the quality of life of affected individuals. AChR alpha 2 monoclonal antibody (H-8) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying the mechanisms of synaptic transmission and the pathophysiology of related diseases, providing insights into the intricate workings of the nervous system.
