20S Proteasome β7 Antibody (H-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects 20S Proteasome β7 (PSMB7) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PSMB7 antibody (H-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PSMB7 plays a crucial role in cellular protein homeostasis by degrading unnecessary or damaged proteins, a process vital for maintaining cellular function and regulating various biological pathways. Located in the cytoplasm and nucleus, PSMB7 is a core component of the larger 26S proteasome complex, which is essential for the selective degradation of ubiquitin-tagged proteins. The structure of PSMB7 is composed of four stacked rings, with two outer rings made up of seven alpha subunits and two inner rings consisting of seven beta subunits, which are primarily responsible for the proteolytic activity. This unique arrangement not only facilitates the entry of substrate proteins but also ensures that the degradation process is tightly regulated, preventing uncontrolled proteolysis that could lead to cellular dysfunction.
