    SEE ALSO...

17β-HSD8 Antibody (G-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects 17β-HSD8 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-17β-HSD8 antibody (G-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. 17β-HSD8, also known as 17 beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 8, plays a crucial role in regulating steroid hormone availability within tissues by converting active steroids, such as estradiol and testosterone, into inactive forms through oxidative activity. This enzymatic function is vital for maintaining hormonal balance, as dysregulation can lead to abnormal steroid levels, potentially resulting in conditions such as recessive renal cystic disease and underdevelopment of the urogenital system. 17β-HSD8 is predominantly expressed in the placenta, endometrium, and prostate, with additional expression in the liver and pancreas, while lowest levels are found in the testis, ovary, and kidney. Precise localization and activity of 17β-HSD8 are essential for normal reproductive and metabolic functions, making 17β-HSD8 a significant target for research in endocrinology and reproductive health.
