17β-HSD7 Antibody (F-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects 17β-HSD7 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). 17β-HSD7 (F-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. 17β-HSD7, also known as 3-keto-steroid reductase, is a crucial enzyme in the 17β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase family, which plays a significant role in regulating steroid availability across different tissues. This 341 amino acid protein is primarily responsible for converting estrone to estradiol, a vital process for maintaining hormonal balance and supporting reproductive health. 17β-HSD7 is involved in cholesterol biosynthesis, highlighting its importance in lipid metabolism. 17β-HSD7 is predominantly expressed in the adrenal gland, liver, lung, and thymus, and plays a critical role in the corpus luteum, where 17β-HSD7 is believed to contribute to fetal development. Single nucleotide polymorphisms in the gene encoding 17β-HSD7 can influence transcription levels in LNCaP and DU145 cells, potentially modulating adverse reactions induced by estramustine phosphate sodium, making 17β-HSD7 a significant target for research in steroid metabolism and related disorders.
