Ref-1 Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Ref-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. anti-Ref-1 antibody (C-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Ref-1 protein, also known as apurinic/apyrimidinic endodeoxyribonuclease 1, plays a crucial role in DNA repair and redox regulation of transcription factors, which is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to oxidative stress. Located primarily in the nucleus, Ref-1 protein is essential for the repair of apurinic/apyrimidinic sites in DNA, which can arise from oxidative damage or spontaneous hydrolysis. This repair function is critical because unrepaired DNA lesions can lead to mutations, genomic instability, and contribute to the development of various diseases, including cancer. Additionally, Ref-1′s redox modulation of transcription factors enhances DNA binding activity, thereby influencing gene expression in response to cellular stress. The interaction between Ref-1 protein and other proteins, such as Fos and Jun, highlights Ref-1′s importance in cellular signaling pathways and gene regulation, making Ref-1 (C-4) antibody a valuable tool for researchers studying these critical biological processes.
