Can this also be used for rat samples?

Thank you for your question. This discontinued antibody is mouse, rat and human reactive and will work fine for rat samples.

Why has been this product been discontinued?

could you tell me which phosphorylated form of p-21 this antibody detects?

Thank you for your question. p21 Antibody (C-19) is a rabbit polyclonal IgG with an epitope mapping at the C-terminus of p21 of human origin. It is recommended for detection of total p21 protein, both non-phosphorylated and phosphorylated forms of the protein. This is not a phospho-specific p21 antibody, and so we have not determined exactly which phosphorylated forms of p21 can be detected using this antibody. However, because the antibody recognizes an epitope mapping within the last 50 amino acids of the protein, it must recognize phosphorylated p21 only within these phosphorylated sites of the protein.
