SNF2L Activators

SNF2L Activators fall into three primary classes: histone deacetylase inhibitors, DNA methyltransferase inhibitors, and chemicals that alter chromatin structure. Histone deacetylase inhibitors including Trichostatin A, Sodium Butyrate, Valproic Acid, and Vorinostat promote chromatin relaxation, indirectly enhancing the activity of SNF2L by creating a more accessible chromatin structure for SNF2L to modulate. By promoting a relaxed chromatin state, these compounds enhance the ability of SNF2L to remodel chromatin, thereby enhancing its functional activity.

Another class of SNF2L activators are DNA methyltransferase inhibitors including Decitabine and Zebularine. Lastly, chemicals that alter chromatin structure, such as, Etoposide, Genistein, and Daunorubicin, can indirectly enhance SNF2L activity by influencing the structural accessibility of chromatin for SNF2L. These compounds alter chromatin structure through various mechanisms, including inhibiting DNA-binding activity of transcription factors, inhibiting topoisomerase II, inhibiting tyrosine kinases, or intercalating into DNA.
