Rho H Activators

Rho H Activators are a broad range of chemicals, primarily due to the complexity and interconnectivity of the Rho GTPase signaling network. Agents such as Phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) and EGF have wide-reaching effects on multiple cellular signaling pathways, but their potential to activate protein kinase C and EGFR respectively can indirectly steer Rho GTPase activities, inclusive of RhoH.

Furthermore, a significant subset of these molecules, such as Fasudil and H1152, target the Rho-associated protein kinase (ROCK). This kinase operates downstream of the Rho GTPases, including RhoH. By influencing ROCK, these chemicals invariably have a bearing on the upstream Rho GTPase functions. On the other end of the spectrum, compounds such as Latrunculin A and Jasplakinolide directly influence actin dynamics, a primary cellular process regulated by Rho GTPases. This offers another avenue through which RhoH's roles might be modulated.
