FAST-1/2 Inhibitors

FAST-1/2 inhibitors represent a group of compounds that can influence the function of the transcription factors FAST-1 (FOXH1) and FAST-2, both of which are involved in the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-beta) signaling pathway. This pathway plays a crucial role in various cellular processes, including cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis.

Direct inhibitors of FAST-1/2 might function by blocking the protein's ability to bind and interact with other molecules, such as DNA or other proteins involved in the TGF-beta signaling pathway. These inhibitors could, for instance, bind to the forkhead DNA-binding domain of FAST-1, thereby preventing FAST-1 from binding to DNA and regulating gene expression.
