FAM82A Activators

FAM82A, also known as Family with Sequence Similarity 82 Member A, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the FAM82A gene.FAM82A is part of a larger protein family (FAM82) that shares sequence similarity. However, the precise roles of this protein family remain largely undefined.

The FAM82A gene is ubiquitously expressed in various tissues, suggesting it may have broad biological functions. In addition, bioinformatic analysis has revealed that FAM82A contains a domain of unknown function, DUF1669, further indicating that its precise roles in cellular processes are not yet fully understood.In the context of disease, studies have suggested that FAM82A might be implicated in certain types of cancer. For instance, it has been reported that FAM82A expression is upregulated in some cancers, suggesting it might play a role in tumorigenesis or cancer progression. However, these findings are preliminary and warrant further investigation.
