PFK-2 tes Antibody (A-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects PFK-2 tes of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PFK-2 tes antibody (A-1) is available in a non-conjugated form, specifically designed for versatile applications in research. PFK-2 tes, also known as PFKFB4 (6-phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose-2,6-biphosphatase 4), is a 469 amino acid cytoplasmic enzyme that plays a crucial role in glycolysis regulation by synthesizing and degrading fructose 2,6-bisphosphate, a potent allosteric activator of phosphofructokinase-1. PFK-2 tes is primarily expressed in the testis and functions as a homodimer, with activity modulated through phosphorylation. Notably, PFK-2 tes expression increases under hypoxic conditions via a hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha (HIF-1α) dependent mechanism, highlighting PFK-2 tes importance in cellular metabolism during low oxygen availability. Elevated levels of PFK-2 tes have been observed in various cancer cell lines, suggesting PFK-2 tes involvement in the Warburg effect, where cancer cells preferentially utilize glycolysis for ATP production even in the presence of oxygen. This metabolic shift supports rapid cell proliferation and survival in tumor microenvironments, making PFK-2 tes a potential target for therapeutic intervention in cancer metabolism.
